Do you remember Halloween as a kid? Being a trick or treater was one of the greatest pleasures in life. You don’t have to give up on all those privileges just because you are a grown up. Let’s make our own version of trick or treat with these incredibly yummy and spooky desserts of chocolate and coffee.
You will not be able to take them into pillowcases or plastic pumpkins but we are pretty sure you’ll experience the same joy you had in front of the hundreds of candies you received when you were an 8 year old. Here is our first trick or treat proposal.

BLACK DEVIL’S CAKE
Servings: 10 portions.
INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
· Heat oven to 350° F.
· Butter a baking pan.
· Cut the Hoja Verde dark chocolate + golden berries into little pieces and melt it with the chocolate chips in a double boiler. Stir occasionally with a perfectly dry rubber spatula.
· Whip together the melted chocolate, sugar, eggs, and ginger until smooth. Azdd the flour and mix until all ingredients are combined. The batter should be thick and shiny.
· Spread the batter in the pan and bake at 350F (180C) for 25-30 minutes.
· Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing.
COFFEEN TOFFEE
Servings: 10 – 15 toffee pieces.
INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
· Grease a medium size
· Combine the black coffee, coconut sugar, cinnamon, sea salt, and molasses in a medium pot.
· Cook the mixture over low-medium heat until it reaches 315°F. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon.
· Whip together the melted chocolate, sugar, eggs, and ginger until smooth. Azdd the flour and mix until all ingredients are combined. The batter should be thick and shiny.
· Spread the mixture in the cookie sheet with a silicone spatula.
· Let the toffee cool 20-30 minutes.
· Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and add the Kahlua. Cool the chocolate for 5 mins.
· Pour the melted chocolate over the toffee and spread evenly.
· Let the chocolate harden at room temperature for about 4 hours.
· Break the toffee into pieces.
